Self-Tapping Screw Countersunk Flat Head with Slotted Drive and Point
DIN 7972-C – UNI 6952-AB – ISO 1482

Thread and Pitch

DIN 7972 self-tapping screws, compliant with ISO 1482 and UNI 6952 standards, feature a continuous thread along the entire shank, designed to form its own mating thread in the base material during installation.
The pointed tip facilitates initial penetration and proper alignment of the screw, ensuring fast, accurate, and efficient installation. The thread geometry provides high holding power, excellent pull-out resistance, and reliable long-term performance. They are particularly suitable for fastening thin sheet metal, light metal materials, and plastics. Depending on the thickness and hardness of the substrate, pre-drilling may be reduced or eliminated; however, for optimal performance, it is recommended to follow the pilot hole diameters specified by technical standards to avoid over-torque and unwanted material stress.
The self-tapping thread simplifies assembly operations, eliminating complex preliminary processes and reducing installation time.

Head Type and Drive

The countersunk flat head is designed to sit completely flush with the material surface, allowing for a flush mounting installation. This configuration ensures a clean, discreet, and uniform aesthetic finish, particularly appreciated in applications where visual appearance and surface safety are key factors.
The slotted drive, compatible with standard screwdrivers, allows simple and precise tightening, ensuring good stability during installation and reducing the risk of head damage. This solution offers an ideal balance between functionality, ease of installation, and aesthetic performance.

Description and Applications

Manufactured from high-quality steel, DIN 7972 self-tapping screws are available with various surface treatments, including:

  • Zinc-plated carbon steel, for standard applications with good corrosion resistance

  • A2 stainless steel, suitable for humid or moderately corrosive environments

  • A4 stainless steel, recommended for outdoor or highly aggressive environments

Their configuration makes them ideal for applications requiring flush surface installation, such as metal or plastic structures, light carpentry, and design furniture.
For countersunk versions, the screw length is measured from the tip to the top of the head, in accordance with international standards.

Available in various sizes, they can be selected according to specific fastening requirements, offering high-performance solutions for multiple sectors, including:

  • Construction and plant engineering

  • Furniture and design

  • Assembly of electronic and electromechanical components

  • Light metal fabrication and structures

  • General industrial applications on metal and plastic

Thanks to their versatility, reliability, and ease of installation, they provide an effective solution for fast, precise, and durable fastening without compromising the aesthetic appearance of the finished product.
